TODAY’S MESSAGE

OF ENCOURAGEMENT FROM:

BELIEVE AND

TRUST YOUR LIFE

 TO JESUS!

Friend, when Jesus walked the streets, hope came alive.

He saw the unseen, stopped for the forgotten, and brought healing and restoration wherever he went!

  • Hope reached for the unclean woman and brought healing.

  • Hope heard the blind beggar’s cry and gave him sight.

  • Hope welcomed the paralysed man through the roof and restored him.

  • Hope crossed the sea to free the tormented and alone.

That same hope still walks among us today,

through his people in cities around the world!

Help us bring this hope found in the gospel of Jesus Christ,

to every street in cities around the world!

Friend, in the gospel of John chapter 1, verses 14, 15, 16 and 17, we read the following words concerning Jesus Christ, who had come from heaven to reveal the relentless love God has for all of mankind. This is what John wrote:

14. The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. 15. John testifies concerning him. He cries out, saying, “This was he of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.’16. From the fullness of his grace, we have all received one blessing after another. 17. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ!”

The coming of the Christ was foretold in the Scriptures, and Jesus of Nazareth, born miraculously during the reign of Herod, was this redeemer!

At the age of thirty, Jesus was baptised by the prophet John and began an astonishing ministry of teaching and preaching, as well as compassionately healing every kind of sickness and disease.

In fact, no sickness or disease was difficult for Jesus to heal! All of which revealed the amazing grace and love God has for humanity (Matthew 9:35-36).

Throughout His ministry on earth, Jesus Christ overcame many barriers, reaching all kinds of people, both high and low, yet never compromising truth, justice, and love.

Jesus was King of the Jews!” He modelled adherence to the Law and summed it up in the two greatest commandments (Matthew 22:35-39). After His incomparable life on earth, the teachings of Jesus would become the New Law that would be taught all over the world, not just to the Jews.

Friend, history attests that Jesus came at just the right time. In the age of the Romans, blood was shed at events for the sheer purpose of amusement. Throughout the empire, infants were being killed for convenience, and children were shamelessly sold as slaves. Suicide was considered permissible, legal, and often advisable.

Will Durant, in his book, The Story of Civilisation, Volume III, wrote the following words concerning the transforming impact Jesus Christ had on people during His lifetime on this earth:

"In Rome's failures, people turned from Caesar preaching war to Jesus Christ preaching peace, from incredible brutality to unprecedented charity, from life without hope or dignity to a faith that consoled their poverty and honoured their humanity" (p. 667).

"Caesar and Christ met in the arena, and Christ won!" (p. 652).

Friend, Jesus gave life meaning through His extraordinary teachings, which were contradictory to their culture and personally called people from all walks of life to follow Him on His terms. In time, His supreme example would triumph in the world through His disciples.

When Christianity first spread in the ancient world, the Christians never found a culture that was not looking for a Saviour. – In fact, this is why Christianity will not go away! – It is an axiomatic truth that Jesus, the Nazarene, and Jesus only, can fulfil the longings of the human spirit.

He does this by His compassionate example, and through His teachings during His life on earth, and ultimately through His sacrificial death on the cross of Calvary and subsequently through His resurrection from the tomb into which His dead body had been laid!

In doing this, Jesus demonstrated that He is the way into the presence of our Heavenly Father! – And that He makes available to us this wholeness of life, where we can experience inner peace, regardless of what outward circumstances may exist.

"Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends" (John 15:13-14).

Jesus is the person sent by God, who willingly came to provide humanity with the WHOLENESS and SECURITY OF LIFE that each of us inwardly is seeking.

Today, we sincerely hope you will want to:

BELIEVE and TRUST YOUR LIFE TO JESUS!

Friend, if you desire to examine further the life and teaching of Jesus, before you commit your life to Him, we encourage you to join Kevin Rutherford in a seven-lesson series as he looks to the scriptures to find just how important you and I are to God.

Every one of us was created in the image of God, which makes every single person important. While we do not want to be selfish or arrogant, we must recognize our importance. If God found us important enough to create us and redeem us, then we should recognise our importance to Him.

QUIET TIME

“’ God is fine for

People who need a crutch,’

Say those who have never

Known His touch!

But I can tell them –

Perhaps you can too –

That what God mends,

Becomes brand new!

No need to limp,

Or be propped up,

When Light and Life

Have filled our cup!

Christ came to throw

Earth’s crutches away.

And what He heals

Is whole to stay!

Where God’s grace

Remains longest,

Is where we will be strongest!”

(Susan Lenskes -- 2018)

Friend, until we share a new message of encouragement with you, may our Loving God lift you on eagle’s wings and provide you with His Peace, Wisdom, and Love.
